Road Trip Power Rankings: Week 1
1. Clyde Park, Montana (Part 1) - 7/7 - 7/8
Our first two days in Clyde Park were awesome. We got to Ruth and Leila’s using our handy-dandy instructions right before we lost service for 5 days, and were introduced to Dale and Jackie. We spent an entire day riding ATVs, and took a beautiful water hike through different creeks to eat lunch.
2. Keystone, South Dakota - 7/5 - 7/7
Keystone was our first stop outside of a real city. On the way, we stopped at the Sacajawea statue overlooking the Missouri River, and the Badlands. We spent the next day visiting Jewel Cave, Custer State Park, and Mt. Rushmore.
3. Twin Cities, Minnesota - 7/3 - 7/5
We arrived in the Twin Cities on Day 2 of the trip, excited to really begin our adventures. We dropped our stuff at Jenny’s and hiked along the Mississippi River all afternoon. Then, we had a dinner by the fire and relaxed. On July 4th, we went stand-up-paddle-boarding, hung out with Radar the dog, saw the views of the Guthrie Center, ate “Child-Size” ice cream, and watched some mesmerizing fireworks.
4. Chicago, Illinois - 7/2 - 7/3
Our first stop was nothing short of great, it just wasn’t the best of the week. We walked through Millennium Park, saw The Bean, and ate true Deep Dish Pizza. At the hotel, we met some awesome kids from Minnesota who were in town for a marching band competition.
